A day of ministry

The friends at Heath End Church, Nuneaton, gave us a very warm welcome to their beautifully refurbished Church for our annual Local Preacher’s Day, now re-named “A day of ministry “on Saturday October 19th. Roy Crowne from “Hope Together” was a most dynamic speaker and evangelist.

He challenged us all by saying that the Christian community does not have the confidence to “Talk Jesus” to others, because we have not equipped people to share Jesus. We only invite others to events and then stand back.

In the afternoon, his theme was based on Colossians 4 v 2; “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

  1. Something to pray. If you pray small then you will receive small answers. Faith rises as you pray.
  2. Something to say. Our language must be understood by “Not –yet Christians”. We preach the Gospel, but we don’t give an opportunity to respond.
  3. Something to give. Be generous…make events totally free. The outside world thinks that we are after their money.
  4. Some-one to invite. Give personal invitations to events.
  5. A new friend to make. We need to make new friends who are not Christians. Join a club, or U3A . Meet new people. You could be a link in their chain to knowing the Lord.

It was a challenging day for all.
