WOMEN OF ACTION
Wesleyan Reform Union of Churches
'To encourage and support all women of the church community in their faith and witness'
Dear Friends July 2023
I hope you are well and enjoying the summer, even with it's mix of weather. We just wanted to update you with the latest news from the Women of Action and invite you to join us where you can.
When we met together for the morning in April we spent much time in prayer, thanking God for all that He has done through the women of the Union past and present, and also seeking His face and favour for the future. After much prayer we have concluded that after 2 years, 5 events, many prayer times and some bible study's, 'He Restores My Soul' will end this year with the last event in September. May I encourage you to join us at Syresham WRU Chapel NN13 5HL on Saturday 23rd September - contact dotdunkley1@gmail.com or 01208 850626 to book your place. We will start at 10:30 (doors open from 10 for refreshments). The morning will include worship, prayer, teaching, discussion and reflection followed by lunch, so please pop the date in your diary and let others know too. It has been amazing to see God pour out His love on us (1 John 3:1) as we allow Him to restore our souls.
We talked about our media presence, and asked ourselves how do we attract more women under the age of 50? We will continue to progress this conversation through the coming months but for now we are adding a 'Thought for the day' to our information on the WRU web page which will be updated monthly. Later in the year there will be a facility on the webpage for anyone to share this on their own individual media platforms.
Following an open discussion at the AGM it was agreed that we would not rejoin the WDP. Overall it was felt that if ladies had a heart to pray for a particular country, up to date information is widely available and easily accessible at any time. We did agree to review this decision annually.
We also began a conversation about the format of any future events, but more prayer is needed for us to know what God is directing us to. We can have many good ideas but we need to know God's heart in this, as only His leading will bring fruit, and prosper the ladies in their relationship with Jesus. That being said we have arranged several dates to meet to pray: Monday 18th September, Monday 20th November, Monday 15th January, all at 6:30 pm on Zoom. In person prayer will be on Saturday 16th March 10:30am at Griffydam.
The AGM in 2024 will be at Hampden View on Saturday 27th April.
All ladies are welcome to join us for any of our events so please pop the dates in your diary, we look forward to meeting with you sometime. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
God bless you all
